Well despite the look of possible rain early in the day, it was a great night to go sailing! We had 3 crew, 2 skippers, 3 boats set up and great RC at 6 PM. We really needed more sailors/skippers. Rowen and Roy ended up with 2 great crew members and one sailor went home early. The course was upwind to mark J and back, twice around, giving everyone lots of practice. After the race a few drinks were had, and all went home for the night with no rain in sight. Hope to see more sailors next week. ... See MoreSee Less

Cosica River Yacht Club (CRYC) had the 84th Annual One Design Regatta this weekend and, despite the very light and shifty conditions, five fleets were able to get in 2 short races. Results can be found www.regattanetwork.com/event/31189#_newsroom+results. Many of the classes had ties on points and the scorer needed to go to the rule book to determine the winners. For the first time since 1998 the Hamptons joined the fleets, so the Hampton Cup was awarded to Latane Montague. The winning Comet was by Wick Dudley of CRYC. Wally Myers, in a tie- breaker won the Hobie Wave ClassThe winner in the Sunfish class was Jim KnabThyen Windmills ended racing with a 3-way tie, with Roy Sherman winning the tie breaker. After sailing on Saturday, a great party with good food and live music was enjoyed, followed by perfect sleeping weather for campers. On Sunday the wind did not get any better, so racing was canceled, awards occurred, and the travelers headed across the bridge early. ... See MoreSee Less
