CRYC, in coordination with Chester River Yacht and Country Club will be hosting the annual Log Canoe Regatta. Members are welcome to come watch the pre and post race activity (Boats will actually be raced in the greater Chester River).

As some of you know I recently took over as fleet captain at Corsica River Yacht Club. As I have not been a member of that club for very long, I have the honor of learning the history of many of their events. One of those items is a perpetual trophy I just was handed this past week. It is the Temple Blackwood Memorial Trophy; it has been awarded to best sailing Penguin at our annual regatta since 1953. That is before most of us were born. I have learned that the Blackwood family heavily supported the Penguin class and Corsica River Yacht Club so it makes the name seem very fitting.
