Typical one design fleets: Penguins, Lasers, Optis, Sunfish, Catboats, 420's, Comets,
Beach Cats and All Comers using the Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap (see
USsailing.org
- if your boat is listed, you can bring it to the race). In
addition, the Magothy River Sailing Association and CRYC collaborate on a race to and from Conquest with Tritons, Cals, and the PHRF A,B. C/D and N fleets
called the Corsica River Race Back.
Boats are launched from the beach.
There is no lift, but we have been putting Comets in the water with no
difficulty.

Conquest is a
pristine and open area on the Chester River with very little boat
traffic. The facility also has campgrounds, bathrooms, a cold
water shower, a covered cabana, volley ball net, baseball diamond and a
very nice beach. Bring your kayaks! It's a great way to
watch the races. There is no camping fee. All minors must
be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Participants who wish to
camp Friday night should arrive between 9:30 AM and 9:30 PM. After
9:30 the gates
are closed for the night. If you can't make it by then, contact us
and we will try to make arrangements.
Camping is free.
Regarding the
issue of dogs, we have struggled with this issue for years. Although we want
to be good hosts and welcoming to our guests, we must insist that a
no dog policy
be in place. It is a matter of cleanliness and (more importantly)
a safety issue. There
will be no exceptions to this rule.
